City of El Paso Plans ‘Unite With Light’ Every Friday Evening
The City of El Paso is encouraging residents to support our first responders, essential workers, and medical workers every Friday with Unite With Light. While many El Pasoans are isolating at home, the city wants the heroic workers on the front lines to know how much we appreciate them by having everyone shine a light at the same time every Friday. Residents are encouraged to light their porch, apartment windows, balconies, Christmas lights, candles, lighters, glowsticks, or other light sources every Friday at 7:30 p.m.
The goal is to visually support essential workers, especially first responders, and medical professionals. The city is asking everyone to help show support and share their efforts on the city's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtag #UniteWithLight.
Many communities are showing various ways of uniting by doing porch happy hours, teddy bear hunts, Easter egg window hunts, and virtual happy hours. This is one way El Pasoans can come together to show our spirit and that we will get through this difficult time united.
