Much like the huge sale of Texas favorite Whataburger, another beloved Texas hot spot has been sold and will no longer call Texas home!

That's right y'all, I'm talking about Chuy's Tex-Mex! Chuy's was just purchased by Darden Restaurants Inc., in a $605 million sale! That means that Chuy's will be moving its headquarters from Austin, Texas and heading to the Sunshine State! Headquarters will now be in Orlando, Florida.

Chuy's isn't the only restaurant that was purchased, the sale also included Olive Garden and Ruth's Chris!

Chuy's CEO Steven Hilsop said in an announcement:

Darden shares many of our same core values, particularly our operating philosophy and strong team member cultures. Together we will accelerate our business goals and bring our authentic, made-from-scratch Tex-Mex to more guests and communities.

Chuy's is best known for its vibrant, quirky atmosphere and flavorful Mexican-inspired dishes. Founded in 1982 in Austin, Texas, Chuy's has grown to over 100 locations across several states. The restaurant offers a fun, eclectic environment, often decorated with funky artwork, Elvis memorabilia, and colorful touches like hubcaps and hand-carved wooden fish hanging from the ceiling!

Chuy's is also notoriously known for narcing on the Bush twins, Jenna and Barbra, in 2001 when they were 19 over their attempt at using fake IDs; Chuy's later apologized for the margarita mess!

Chuy's menu features a variety of dishes such as enchiladas, tacos, burritos, fajitas, and quesadillas. One of its standout items is the creamy jalapeño dip, a crowd favorite that many customers rave about. Chuy's also uses fresh ingredients, including hand-rolled tortillas, homemade sauces, and marinated meats, to create flavorful meals. And now, the Sunshine State will be so lucky to house the institution!
