Chico's Tacos might be the biggest El Paso staple, but that doesn't mean it doesn't come with some controversy.

Many will argue that the cheese has changed for the worst. Many will argue that the prices are way too high, and some may even argue that Chico's isn't even that great- looking at you, Mario Lopez!

But, there seems to be a general consensus about Chico's Tacos. This one was surprising even for me. Everyone seems to agree that their grilled cheese is one of the best things ever!

That's right, the humble, but mighty and delicious, grilled cheese from Chico's Tacos is actually amazing.

If you've never had a grilled cheese at Chico's Tacos, then you are missing out! El Paso foodies seem to agree it's always a must-have when visiting; and one of the best things about this shocking menu item is that it's only $1.87.

With inflation and the obvious price increases at Chico's Tacos, $1.87 doesn't seem so bad- especially when the grilled cheese is delicious.

Many say that the magic behind the grilled cheese is actually mayonnaise! Instead of butter- Chico's uses mayo. Although I can't actually confirm that, I'm inclined to believe everyone who has told me that because there really is something unique about their grilled cheese! Or maybe it's just the fact that someone else has made this childhood favorite. Food is always good when someone else makes it for you!

You can order the grilled cheese on the side and dip away at the sauce from your tacos; many say this is the El Paso version of a grilled cheese with tomato soup! And I might just up the ante and tell you a secret way I like to enjoy it- add a burger patty to your grilled cheese and you won't regret it!
