Anytime you finish a concert venue in Texas, the rules are usually the same regarding things you're allowed to bring inside. For instance you can bring your wallet, just make sure you have money for food/merchandise & your bags don't have anything that's prohibited inside the venue. However in El Paso, two of the biggest venues have made a big change regarding future events.

The El Paso Plaza Theater will no longer accept cash & there are changes regarding your personal bags

As announced on the official El Paso live website, their venues are now classified as clear bag & cashless venues. This includes the El Paso Convention Center & the Plaza Theater located in downtown El Paso. This means that anyone attending the events will accept all forms mobile payments as well as credit/debit cards.

This also means that any bags brought inside the Convention Center & the Plaza Theater MUST be see-through & have to be smaller than 12” x 6” x 12”. Non-clear bags than are smaller than 4.5” x 6.5” are still permitted. Any suitcases, backpacks, briefcases or baggage are prohibited.

This is not the first venue in Texas to embrace the clear bag/cashless policy; other examples include the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Moody Center, & Globe Life Field. In fact this isn't the first time a venue in El Paso has embraced the cashless policy either as Southwest University Park became a cashless venue back in 2021.

So now you know the next time you go to either the Plaza Theater or Convention Center, and you bring money, make sure it's not in your wallet...
