Beto O’Rourke’s Thank You Speech To El Paso

Last week, El Pasoan Beto O'Rourke lost his Senate campaign to Senator Ted Cruz. But his concession speech was filled with the love he has for El Paso. Beto O'Rourke was born and raised in El Paso and his roots run deep in the city. During his entire campaign, he gushed about his love of the Sun City and encouraged people to come here and experience the city he knows and loves. Many have wrongly depicted El Paso, as some Western frontier where we spend our days dodging bullets in downtown. But in reality, we spend our time enjoying the sunshine while hiking, bike riding, dancing at our multiple outdoor festivals, eating great cuisine at food events and yes, drinking refreshing micheladas (which are just lime juice, ice and salt thank you). His concession speech became a heartwarming "I love you" to the city and the people who have been with him since the beginning.
