Beto Defends Anthem Protests; Breitbart Loses It

Congressman Beto O’Rourke who is running against Ted Cruz for his U.S. Senate seat, went viral a couple times this week. First, there was the video of him doing some impromptu skateboarding in the parking lot of a Whataburger.

Nutshell version, Beto very politely answers the man’s question, makes sure that he knows that just because he has a different opinion, it doesn’t make him any less patriotic…and then does a killer 5 minutes about why he thinks the anthem protests are great. In his own words, “I can’t think of anything more American” (than the protests).

It took a few days before the neo-crypto-fascist website Breitbart.com decided whether to report this story (Breitbart is, essentially, a big copy-and-paste content mill masquerading as a news site). When they finally decided to run it, their commenters were not pleased. Not coherent, but also not pleased .
