According to Forbes, yes; these are the best peeps to work for in Texas. Healthcare, tech, a grocery store and NASA made the list.

Forbes interviewed 160,000 employees from companies employing no less than 500 people. Texas, it turns out, has got some pretty cool bosses.

We didn't make the list because we don't employ 500 people. We should've though, our boss is the BEST. Amazing guy. (Shameless, I know, but Christmas is coming and I gotta do what I gotta do...)

Seriously, there are some kickass companies in Texas. (Stands to reason, the entire lone star state kicks ass.) Forbes showcased some of them in their list which included all kinds of different businesses and industries.

Texas' favorite grocer, HEB, made the cut and those folks at NASA ... a major, MAJOR  boon to the Texas economy ... are apparently pretty solid folks. Here's the "Texas 10" from KHOU:

  1. Houston Methodist - healthcare and social services
  2. Humana - insurance
  3. H-E-B Grocery Company - retail and wholesale
  4. Toyota North America - automotive
  5. Cook Children's Health Care System - healthcare and social services
  6. Bechtel - construction, chemicals, and raw materials
  7. Progressive - insurance
  8. NASA - aerospace and defense
  9. IKEA - retails and wholesale
  10. Intel - semiconductors, electronics, and electrical engineering

As for El Paso's best employers, (after my boss), I don't think anybody has ever really ranked or honored them in any "official" poll. I do know who employs the most peeps in El Paso though.

No big surprise at who was #1 on that list but, I must admit, #2 did surprise me as did where the city of El Paso itself ranked.
