Batman and Blue Beetle’s Epic Team-Up in El Paso Comic
When you think of iconic superheroes, for many people, Batman is THE superhero & if you live in El Paso, Texas, the name that we know & love is the Blue Beetle (aka Jaime Reyes). We know they have many comics between the two; but for one specific comic, both of them needed to team up & solved a crime that happened in El Paso.
What comic featured Batman & Blue Beetle in El Paso, Texas?
The comic we're looking at is the 2009 issue of Batman: The Brave & the Bold, Issue #2 called Attack of the Virtual Villains. The comic starts off with Batman helping Superman capture a baddie before quickly cutting to El Paso, Texas.
It's here that a bank robbery is being done by what looks like a red devil, a thieving barbarian dwarf & a troll. Obviously Batman has no idea what to make of this so he goes to the home of Jaime Reyes; where they discover that the people who robbed a bank were actually from a video game & escaped into the real world.
Jaime, thinking this is something that's absolutely normal, suits up and both Batman & Blue Beetle team up to fight the 3 baddies from before in town. Eventually they are able phase themselves into the game & with the help of gamers from all around the world, together they beat the main bad guy.
I know what you're thinking...this story sounds crazy. But this IS a comic where Batman & Blue Beetle team up to kick some butt...even if they aren't real. The comic thankfully has been uploaded with people narrating the story, so if you want to this absolutely INSANE story, you can check it out below.
I personally love the idea of not only seeing El Paso appear in comic books, but seeing Blue Beetle team up with other members of the DC Universe. Hopefully it's just a matter of time before we can see something like this on the big screen (and before we see El Paso appear again in the DC Universe).
