Austin's Alamo Drafthouse has received backlash for a "Women Only" Wonder Woman screening that they had.

Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas is receiving backlash for their idea for a fun "Women's Only" Wonder Woman screening for the new movie when it comes out in June. The movie theater probably thought it would be a fun idea to get a girl power loving type of attendance and maybe have women dress up in costume for the movie. And it was! The screening was so popular they actually had to add an additional screening to accommodate all the people were wanted to attend.

Here's what the theater had to say about the event:

"Apologies, gentlemen, but we’re embracing our girl power and saying 'No Guys Allowed' for one special night at the Alamo Ritz. And when we say 'Women (and People Who Identify As Women) Only,' we mean it. Everyone working at this screening — venue staff, projectionist, and culinary team — will be female."

Luckily for the Drafthouse, whoever is in charge of their social media is snarky and snappy with their responses to people who are offended by the movie screening. One Facebook user wrote: "Alamo Drafthouse, will there be a male only screening for Thor: Ragnarok or a special screening for IT that's only for those who identify as clowns?" The Drafthouse happily responded: "We might actually have to steal that clown idea, Thanks!"

Alamo Drafthouse also told Facebook users that they have special viewings for military, veterans and other private screenings for the new movie. Luckily the Alamo Drafthouse hasn't been phased by the negative comments. The two screenings both sold out already.
