During the Spring, students and staff collected clothing from others in the community to add to their Claw Mall. This community closet is a way for students to provide those in need with free clothing they may need for a job, job interviews, or any other special occasion that requires business attire clothing that sometimes, people can not afford.

The “Claw Mall” has items that include sneakers, professional women’s shoes, button-up shirts, men’s ties and t-shirts, baby clothing, and more.

“Our biggest message is always about how can we help you what can we do for you and that's been like on the campus level so hopefully this is for our community. If somebody needs something for an interview then come visit us, because that’s why we’re here,” said Anthony Middle School Principal Jose De La Torre.

The closet is a way for the students to give back to their community but it is also teaching these young students a few important life skills.

“Each article of clothing has been washed and sanitized by students and staff,” said school officials.

The “Claw Mall” is something locals can use whenever they need clothing and it’s also a way to encourage locals to dress for success!

Members of the community who are interested in visiting the Claw Mall must make a shopping appointment by calling (915) 886-6530 during regular school hours.
Claw Mall donations will be ongoing and will be accepted Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Anthony Middle School.

Safe to safe our future is in good hands with young students like those who helped put together this community closet. Way to go students and way to go teachers and Anthony ISD school staff!
