Another Major Concert Coming To Speaking Rock For Free This April
The last time Speaking Rock brought this group their venue was filled with thousands of excited fans and they're ready to bring them back again. Concerts have been back in full force this year, with plenty of amazing artists announcing shows coming soon to the Sun City.
At the end of this month, rock fans are excited to see the Danish rockers of Volbeat team up with the ghoulishly good Ghost for a co-headlining show at the Don Haskins Center on February 28th. There are also concerts coming from Jack White, From Ashes To New, and Escape The Fate all coming this year and for rap fans, there's another show that was just announced you'll be excited for.
Cypress Hill was just announced to be playing a free show at Speaking Rock Entertainment Center in April. Cypress Hill last performed in El Paso back in August 2021 and it was a wild show. Halfway through their concert, it started pouring rain at the outside venue. While some fans ran for cover, others stayed outside jamming out to the DJ and dancing around in the rain.
For many El Pasoans, people were out enjoying their first concert after the pandemic and because of this, no rain could stop the fans from enjoying the show. We stayed, first dancing in the rain, then hiding in a barn on the property to hide from the rain, then returning once the skies cleared and Cypress Hill took the stage again.
Cypress Hill has performed in El Paso several times and every time their shows have a large, energetic crowd enjoying their music. The last time Cypress Hill performed at Speaking Rock Entertainment Center was July 19th, 2012 at their former Event Center and the crowd for this show was massive:
Safe to say with the band performing again at Speaking Rock, you'll want to get there early to grab a good spot. Cypress Hill will be performing at Speaking Rock Entertainment Center on Saturday, April 2nd. Speaking Rock Entertainment Center is located at 122 South Old Pueblo Road. This is a 21 years of age and older show and it is free to get in. You can find out more information on this concert at the Speaking Rock Entertainment Facebook Page and the Speaking Rock website.
It's been three decades since Cypress Hill first released their debut album and since then the group has become an iconic group that has influenced generations since. Back in 2019, Cypress Hill was the first Latino hip-hop group given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At that time we reported there were only 56 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that had been given to individuals of Hispanic descent.
Sen Dog of Cypress Hill told the Albuquerque Journal that the group spent their quarantine time in 2020 at home spending time with their families. Now, the group is ready to be back out on the road and can't wait to perform again in person for their fans.
