Now there are things that will make someone who has never hiked, want to hike. Usually, what motivates a person like that has to be something pretty gnarly. But that is the beauty about doing something some locals consider extraneous.

The quote we have all heard about pain and beauty are totally true. Sure a hike may seem crucial but the reward after is ALWAYS totally worth it.

I remember my good friend Marisa got me amped for a hike just because of a wishing box. The wishing box was placed up at the top near a tree accompanied by a great view.

Fernie B. shared a very interesting perspective after finishing up his hike at the Mines. His personal opinion sure has me convinced and planning my next visit to see the so-called alligator up close and personal.

The next time you plan to go hike the Mines make sure you keep an eye out for the alligator. Not like an actual live-breathing animal but a replica that is made out of rock.

I totally agree with Fernie B. and also see a rock shaped like an alligator from his evidence of photos. It's so cool that not only do we have an elephant on top of the Franklin Mountains but now an alligator.
