Tonight, everyone is invited to Southwest University Park for a community memorial service to reflect and honor the victims of the mass shooting on August 3rd. The service begins at 7 P.M. but everyone is encouraged to plan ahead if you are attending. If you do plan to attend, here is some information to help you plan out your evening.

NO purchased ticket is necessary, this is a free event open to the public.

TIME:
7 PM- Doors to the ballpark will open at 6 PM

WHERE:
Southwest University Park

Once the park is at capacity, people will be redirected to other locations where the memorial will be simulcast live, those locations are:

-Convention Center at Santa Fe Street and San Antonio Avenue
-Abraham Chavez Theater at Santa Fe Street and San Antonio Avenue
-Cleveland Square Park, at Santa Fe Street and Franklin Avenue
-Ponder Park, at WH Burges Drive

STREET CLOSURES:
There will be several street closures around both downtown and Ponder Park. Street closures go into effect at 5 PM and include:
-Santa Fe Street between Wyoming Avenue and San Antonio Avenue
-Missouri Avenue between Durango Street and El Paso Street
-W. Franklin Avenue between Santa Fe Street and El Paso Street
-Viscount Boulevard (one lane closed in each direction) from Sunmount to Bellrose Drive
-WH Burges Drive from Ash Lane to Sun Mount Drive
-Juniper Street from Edgemere Boulevard to WH Burges Drive
-Catalpa Lane from WH Burges Drive to Viscount Boulevard

PARKING:
Free parking will be offered throughout various parking garages and parking meters that include:
-The Glory Road Transit Terminal
-The convention center parking garage
-The Union Plaza Transit Terminal
-The Mills building parking garage
-The Wells Fargo Parking garage
-all metered parking spaces in downtown and uptown
-122 Kansas parking garage
-surface lot at 401 Mesa (across from San Jacinto Plaza
-surface lot at 415 Mesa (behind Stewart Title)

FREE RIDES:
The El Paso Streetcar will offer free rides to the downtown locations

WHAT CAN I BRING:
At Southwest University the following are allowed:
Cell phones
Hand bags (Subject to search)

At Ponder Park the following are allowed:
Cell phones
Lawn chairs
Banners and signs
Hand bags (all subject to search).

WHAT CAN I NOT BRING:
Alcohol
Weapons
Non-service animals
Banners and signs
Glass containers

CAN I BRING FOOD OR WATER:
No outside food will be allowed at Southwest University Park or the Convention center, free water will be available at Southwest University Park.

At Ponder Park:
Outside food and non-alcoholic drinks in non-glass containers are permitted at Ponder Park.

Service is expected to last about an hour and a half, and will be live streamed through the City of El Paso's Facebook Page and various local channels.
