86 New COVID-19 Cases in El Paso, Total Confirmed Cases at 1,276

As of May 8th, 86 new COVID-19 confirmed cases have been announced, which brings the total confirmed cases in El Paso, Texas to 1,276. Two additional deaths have been announced by City Officials through their press release, bringing the total COVID-19 related deaths to 32.

According to officials and KVIA, the spike in cases is most likely from Easter weekend. As Mother's Day approaches, El Pasoans really need to take the COVID-19 issue seriously.

El Pasoans are urged to still follow safety precautions as the city begins to reopen, along with the rest of the state of Texas. Have some common sense when going out and about El Paso.  In response to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, our City and County officials are working on proposing amendments to the Local Emergency Directive, which will go into place on May 1st, 2020.
