Recently the government of the Canadian state of Quebec passed a law requiring proof of vaccination if you wanted to buy marijuana (which is legal over there) or alcohol. Apparently, it worked with vaccinations QUADRUPLING. Which got me thinking about what things El Pasoans would get vaccinated for it if it was mandatory.
Even though we're still in the middle of the pandemic, some people aren't getting vaccinated. I know as far as cities in Texas go El Paso is doing great in terms of vaccination rates, but there will always be a few holdouts. So, with the new Quebec law in mind, I've compiled a list of the things I believe El Paso people would get vaccinated for if it was required. Let us know which things we forgot in the poll at the end!
El Paso LOVES their hot Cheetos. Just ask Joanna, she's constantly complaining that she can't find any at the stores.
Going to shows and concerts is a big part of El Paso culture. If Metallica came through El Paso offering a FREE show to people who were vaccinated I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be an unvaccinated person left in the entire county!
Cowboys Football Games
This one is obvious. El Paso is Cowboys country. If we couldn't watch, life wouldn't be worth living. Not to be overly dramatic.
How could an El Pasoan enjoy a good Cowboy's game without their tequila? Also known as the lifeblood of Vicente Fernandez, tequila literally courses through our veins, probably because we just took a shot.
And how could a good El Pasoan get over their tequila hangover without their menudo? Vaccine needed? Done.
Red Parrot Cabaret
El Paso loves its ladies, and the Red Parrot Cabaret has been a staple of El Paso nightlife for years. Giving up the ladies over a vaccine? No thank you.
El Paso loves going to church, how else are they supposed to repent for going to the Red Parrot the night before. If a little jab is all we need, then going to church we're going indeed.
These are just a few of the things I'm convinced true El Pasoans would give in and get vaccinated for if it was mandatory. Tell us which things you think we forgot in the POLL below.
