October 14th is 'Be Bald and Be Free' day. A day honoring those fallen follicles who gave their lives so that their fellow hairs may live. Today is the day we commemorate balding and not be ashamed of it, not be judged by it, but embraced by it!

Whether you're barely thinning or you're rocking a chrome dome we are all part of a hairy fellowship, a fellowship of men, a club of men, a hair club for men.

Here Are Five Ways To Celebrate Baldies:

1. GIVE YOUR BALD FRIENDS OR FAMILY A SHOUT OUT

If you're not going through what US bald folks call the change then reach out to those friends and family whose scalp is as naked as the day they were born and let him know you love them.

2. SHAVE YOUR HEAD

If you've been losing coverage on your noggin and wondering what you might look like without any hair then today's the day to give in to your curiosity and Go full Brittany Spears in the early 2000s by shaving the suckers off completely.

GIVE THE TOUPEE A REST

If you spent a lot of time covering up you're upstairs real estate with a toupee then today's the day to stop lying to the world and just be free. Lift the weight of this hairy lie and show the world real you.

STOP WEARING A HAT

The same goes for those of you who love hiding your shame with the tight lid. I know the temptation to hide yourself from the world. But be a homie to your head and give your crown a breather by lifting the lid.

BUY SOME ROGAINE

If you're thinning hair really does bother you then you have some options. Today's the day to stop waiting and just go for it go to the nearest Walgreens and get some rogaine or propecia. It doesn't work for a severe balding but it might just slow it down enough to protect your ego for the next couple years.

JUST LET THAT TUFT OF HAIR GO

A lot of the time I've been bald I've also been deluding myself. I kept a tuft of hair that was like a solitary Island amongst a smooth white sea. The side and back of my head had hair and I thought that little tuft completed my top. But it's just looked desperate. To anyone out there who's clinging to the fantasy do they have John Stamos hair but in fact have Larry from The Three stooges hair, I'm here to tell you it's okay to let go. I promise you'll feel better.

It's not an easy path being a baldy. There's a lot of judgment, a lot of resentment, and a lot of dickey friends. But I'm here to tell you today and every day from now on it doesn't matter as long as you're happy with you I promise that other people will be too, so go out there and celebrate my fellow follicularly challenged friends!
