A baby penguin at the Cincinnati Zoo, the first animal born at the zoo in 2016, was named after David Bowie.

The adorable little fuzzy guy was born on Friday — two days before the rock icon's death — but was named after the legend as it was also his birthday.

The zoo says the baby penguin, called a blue or fairy penguin, hatched at 6 a.m. Friday, and weighed less than 2 ounces, according to the Associated Press.

David Bowie passed away on Sunday, two days after his 69th birthday, after an 18-month battle with cancer.
