A friend of mine was talking about how much he hated his girlfriend's dog to the point he was considering dumping her over the pooch. Is that going too far?

I thought dogs were supposed to be man's best friend. But in some cases, dogs can be a sore subject for couples. For me, I would never dump a guy over his dog, but if he chose spending time with the dog over spending time with me, it may be time to reevaluate the relationship.

In my buddy's case, the dog is a yappy little chihuahua who bites, growls, and is very territorial over her owner. If he even comes near her, the dog immediately gets in the way and stops him from being near her. The dog also shares the bed with his girl. So when he spends the night with her, they have to have space in the middle for the dog. Every time he yells at the dog or goes to discipline her, he gets chewed out by his girl. She says, "she's a baby....she doesn't mean it.....I can't discipline her it's too hard," and things like that.

So I'm asking the Q listeners to answer the question he has been asking me, should he dump his girl? Give her the choice, him or the dog? Or just learn to live with the little brat (the dog I mean). Leave your comments below and tell me what you would do in this situation.
