Unwelcome Honor- 2 Texas Cities In Top 10 For Worst Hotel Reviews

There's a new list giving out unwanted awards to cities nationwide. The travel website PlanetWare has come out with its list of the top U.S. cities with the worst hotel reviews.

The company looked at Tripadvisor's popular website to see what cities were getting the worst reviews for various hotels.

The five most common complaints from customers were:

1.    Smell of smoke in rooms

2.    Not enough toilet paper

3.    Bed bugs

4.    Thin walls

5.    Poor service

Regarding the cities with the worst reputation, two Texas cities made it onto the top ten list. San Antonio, Texas tied for sixth place with Kansas City, Columbus, Memphis, and Tampa.

Here are the top 10 cities with the worst hotel reviews:

Thankfully, El Paso wasn't seen on this list, which hopefully means our hotels have better reviews than other cities that have the unfortunate luck of being on the list. Cities like Miami Beach, FL, and Montauk, NY tied for first place as the top cities with the worst hotel service based on TripAdvisor reviews.

For this report, Planetware looked at over 7.8 million hotel reviews on TripAdvisor for more than 9,000 hotels in 95 U.S. cities in April 2023, according to the site. You can see the entire list and PlanetWare's methodology on their website.
