Reports came out yesterday that Blink 182 guitarist Tom DeLonge had quit the band. Then Tom said no he didn't. Now Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker are commenting, and it isn't pretty.

Blink 182 fans were shocked yesterday to learn that founding member and guitarist Tom DeLonge had apparently quit the band. Multiple outlets reported a quote from a Blink 182 publicist that the guitarist "didn't want to participate in any Blink-182 projects indefinitely but would rather work on his other, non-musical endeavors." The band announced that Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba would be filling in for the guitarist. The first date with Skiba would be Barker's Musink Tattoo and Music Festival in Los Angeles on March 22.

After that information was released, Tom DeLonge posted on his Facebook page to address the, what he believed was, erroneous information. DeLonge wrote:

To all the fans, I never quit the band. I actually was on a phone call about a blink 182 event for New York City at the time all these weird press releases started coming in... Apparently those releases were 'sanctioned' from the band. Are we dysfunctional- yes. But, Christ..... ‪#‎Awkward‬ ‪#‎BabyBackRibs‬

After Tom DeLonge's statement was released, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker spoke to Rolling Stone to go further into detail about the split. Hoppus said that in the last two years, the three members have been working to get a record deal to record a new album. The band was supposed to go back into the studio on January 5th, however Hoppus and Barker said they received an email from Tom's manager saying he wasn't interested in recording, touring or doing anything with Blink 182 "indefinitely."

Barker even stated he believes DeLonge released a statement because "he's bummed Mark and (Barker) were finally honest." He's more from Barker on Tom DeLonge's actions:

It's hard to cover for someone who's disrespectful and ungrateful. You don't even have the balls to call your bandmates and tell them you're not going to record or do anything Blink-related. You have your manager do it. Everyone should know what the story is with him and it's been years with it. When we did get back together after my plane crash, we only got back together, I don't know, maybe because I almost died. But he didn't even listen to mixes or masterings from that record. He didn't even care about it. Why Blink even got back together in the first place is questionable.
