When did the band get together, and how?

Alex and Paco met each other through one of their bands called 18-inch invasion. They split and Alex formed Inline With You. After a couple of years Paco replaced the former bass player. IWY after four years of playing together felt that the band did not have the effort it deserved and it was decided to end the summer of 2011. The Slinksters got together shortly after the break up and are currently recording their first record, “Red Rocket?” Their first and official show will be BalloonFest 2012!

How would you describe your music to someone?

Fast paced, catchy punk rock.

Who are some of the bands that influence your music?

The Slinksters enjoy and are influenced by bands like The Descendents, Leftover Crack, The Aquabats, NOFX, and Justin Beiber to Blink 182 and Against Me!

What is your most memorable gig so far?

Back in IWY a most memorable show had to have been opening up for 40oz to Freedom at Club 101, the last two Texas Tattoo Showdown Festival or many of the house shows we played.

Are you currently signed to any kind of label or management?

We started our own label/studio called Red Rocket Records and we manage our own bookings..

Alex has played in Inline With You, Sweetest Downfall, The Turboprops and American Citizens.

Paco has played in Inline With You, The Manhattan Project, The Turboprops and Crossing White Elephants.

What other local bands would you recommend people check out?

There are definitely a lot of groups in El Paso that should be heard like Morfiend, The Skuids, The Wreck, Radio la Chusma, Fixed Idea, Ballad 42, Scordatura Vita, Kontra Golpe Noise Manifiesto, etc…
