The Sun City Baconfest is right around the corner and I wanted to share my favorite bacon wrapped Jalapeno poppers recipe! I got a different name for them which is carb-loaded poppers since there are two cheeses. You won't need a lot of time to prepare these spicy snacks for your party. I do recommend you use latex gloves while handling the jalapenos and putting it all together. After you prepare all the ingredients and put them together is when you can get to baking. After completing the preparation preheat your oven to 300 and then once you place them inside to cook lower the heat to 250. You will proceed to bake them for an hour or longer if you like them crispy! Hope you enjoy my carb-loaded poppers!

    Bacon

It doesn't matter what kind of bacon you use because you will still have the same outcome. I made a mix batch of that had the healthy and unhealthy bacon strips. The cool thing is no one could tell the difference between them. If you plan on double wrapping the poppers then you will need 2 packages of bacon.

    Jalapenos

If you're needing an appetizer to feed at least 6 then you should buy 30 Jalapenos. After you give them a full clean wash you will cut a straight line down the middle and clear out the seeds.

    Cream Cheese

Yes, people say it's weird to use TWO cheeses for the poppers but it tastes delicious! You can buy any kind of block cream cheese that's sold in the box from whatever brand you prefer. I cut a thin strip about 3 to 4 inches long to stuff inside the jalapeno. For the 30 jalapenos you will need 2 boxes of cream cheese to have enough.

    Colby Jack Cheese

You don't have to use Colby Jack cheese but I believe it gives the poppers an extra kick. You can cut the same size as you did for the cream cheese for this cheese. The 16 oz. block of cheese is fine to use for the 30 jalapenos.
