The Texas Department of Transportation has activated their "Click It Or Ticket" program, designed to bring awareness to the importance of proper safety belt use.The campaign, during which law enforcement will specifically target non and improper use of seat belts, went into effect Monday. An article in the El Paso Times said:

In 2014, 2,587 motorists were either seriously injured or killed on Texas roads because they were not wearing their seat belts. According to TxDOT, wearing your seatbelt increases your chance of surviving a crash by 45 percent in passenger vehicles and 60 percent in trucks.

Whether you like wearing your seat belt or not, it's the law. Every person in a vehicle, front seat or back, must wear their seat belt.  Except for small children who must be in a legally approved child seat. Heads up peeps, they're looking for you.
