It's turning out to be quite the productive and creatively rewarding trip for Nikki Sixx as he enjoys his travels in Australia. Sixx is currently touring Down Under with Motley Crue and he's been using his downtime to work through new music.

On Saturday (Jan. 26), Sixx was able to reveal his latest creative venture, the new 'Schecter Sixx' signature series bass, during the NAMM convention in Anaheim, California.

The year 2013 is gearing up to be a big one for Motley Crue and Nikki Sixx. In addition to working on a broadway play based on his book ‘The Heroin Diaries,’ and his recent engagement to longtime girlfriend Courtney Bingham, the bassist recently confirmed that Motley Crue is indeed working on a brand spanking new full-length album.

In just a few more months, rock fans are in for the show of a lifetime when Motley Crue and Kiss hit the road together on their co-headlining trek, The Tour. The 40-date tour will kick off on July 20 in Bristow, Va. and is promised to be packed full of the same edge that both bands have always had.
It was fitting that three members of Slipknot hit the stage to present an honor that’s new to the Revolver Golden Gods this year, and an equally fitting name for it — the Paul Gray Best Bassist Award. Gray was, after all, Slipknot’s bassist until his tragic death in May 2010 from a drug overdose, and a very skilled one at that. Bass players are often the unsung hero of the band, but nobody ever overlooked Gray — during his life or after his passing.
