Axl Rose has hammered another nail in the Guns N’ Roses original lineup coffin. The singer was photographed exiting the famed Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles last night (April 6) with pop music up ‘n comer Lana Del Rey when he delivered a one-sentence declaration about playing with his former bandmates.
Axl Rose has amassed quite a few detractors over the years based on his late arrivals to the stage – or in the instance of a 2002 show in Philadelphia, not showing up at all. On that fateful night in 2002, when the crowd found out Guns N’ Roses wouldn’t be taking the stage, a riot erupted, resulting in several fans being sent to the hospital.
It’s a celebratory time for the current and former members of Guns N’ Roses and not just because they are gearing up for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, which is set to take place in April, or because Slash has a new album coming out in May! Two key members are celebrating birthdays this week, which was acknowledged by Slash via Twitter.
Guns N’ Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed went from playing the Whisky in Hollywood on Thursday nights to flying to clubs in private jets overnight when he joined the ranks of GN’R in 1990. Reed hooked up with the band when they were at their musical and cultural apex AKA the biggest, baddest band in the world. If Reed wanted a trial by fire, he got it. He recalled his early days in the band while the band was on its current U.S tour.
The end of the year tends to be a reflective time for most people — a time of looking back at where we’ve been, assessing what we’ve learned, and looking toward the future. And even though he might have a cooler hat collection (not to mention more guitar-playing ability) than most of us, Slash is no different — as evidenced by his recent column for Esquire, titled ‘What I’ve Learned.’
Axl Rose isback and the same as even. I really don't know if I would attend his concerts anymore.
You really never know what you’re going to get from Axl Rose in an interview, and it seems pretty clear that he isn’t exactly eager to discuss the possibility of reuniting the original Guns N’ Roses lineup for a performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony next year.
We know what you’re thinking. Guns N’ Roses? A canceled show? That can’t be! Well unfortunately that’s exactly what has happened to GN’R's show that was scheduled for tomorrow night (Nov. 23) in Albany, N.Y.
Gene Simmons is never at a loss for words, so in a recent interview when asked what he thought about Guns N’ Roses and what they could have been, the Kiss bassist-singer was very open.
‘That Metal Show’’s Eddie Trunk and Jim Florentine recently interviewed Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses for an upcoming episode of the show, set to air on VH1 Classic on Nov. 11. On Trunk’s radio show last night (Nov. 4), he talked about the epic interview and teased a few clips for listeners.
It’s Axl Rose‘s world and we all just live in it and play by his rules, even in 2011. Apparently, the temperamental and interview-shy Rose, who is famous for his tardiness and doing things on his clock and whenever the hell he feels like it, granted an hour-long interview to Eddie Trunk of VH1 Classic’s ‘That Metal Show’ in the wee hours of this morning (Oct. 30). The interview took place at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fla., around 7 in the morning!
