According to reports, Sports Authority is planning on closing all of its Texas stores, which if true, would include the one at Sunland Park in El Paso.

While the store has not confirmed the mass closings, The Dallas Morning News reported that the Colorado-based retailer told employees of its plans to close all 25 of its Texas stores. According to the report, the sporting good retailer plans to close 140 of its 450 stores and is preparing to settle for bankruptcy.

According to The Dallas Morning News, employees at Sports Authority's Texas stores were told last week that the stores will be closing, but weren't given a date or timeline for the closures.

Besides the El Paso location, Sports Authority has stores in Austin, Dallas, Denton, Farmers Branch, Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston (3), Humble, League City, Mansfield, McAllen, Pasadena, Pearland, Plano (2), Richmond, Rockwall, San Antonio (2), Shenandoah, Stafford and Webster.
