While the city is ecstatic the Border West Expressway is finally open, there is still quite a lot of construction happening on El Paso Roads. We've finally seen some of the major road projects coming to a close, and the improvements are making the commutes home better and better! Still, there are some projects that are just getting started or are getting the finishing touches. To make sure you're not stuck sitting in traffic due to construction on your commute, you've come to the right place. I-10 Connect

Tuesday, January 19, 2021 Until Further Notice

  • Ramp H, which connects eastbound I-10 to northbound US 54, will be closed to all traffic.

West Area Closures

Transmountain Project Until Further Notice

  • Transmountain west and eastbound between US-54 and Tom Mays State Park reduced to one lane in both directions. Bike lane closed.

Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, - Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 (9 am - 4 pm)

  • Loop 375 eastbound between Resler to Paseo del Norte left shoulder closed.
  • Loop 375 westbound between Tom Mays State Park to Resler left shoulder closed.

Mesa Rehabilitation Project Until Further Notice

  • Mesa northbound between Baltimore and Castellano reduced to one lane.
  • Mesa southbound between Festival and Montecillo reduced to one lane.

US-54 Overlay Project

Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, - Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 (7 am - 5 pm)

  • US-54 north and southbound between New Mexico State Line and McCombs alternate lane closures.

Bridge Maintenance Project

Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, - Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)

  • US-54 northbound at Ellerthorpe complete closure.
  • All traffic directed to Ellerthorpe exit.
  • Spur 601 to US-54 northbound direct connector ramp closed.
  • US-54 southbound entrance ramp at and after Fred Wilson closed.

Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, - Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)

  • US-54 southbound at Ellerthorpe complete closure.
  • All traffic directed to Ellerthorpe exit.
  • US-54 southbound entrance ramp before Ellerthorpe closed.

Guardrail Repair Project

Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021 (9 am - 4 pm)

  • I-10 eastbound between Anthony and Vinton left lane closed.

Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 (9 am - 4 pm)

  • US-54 southbound between Pershing and Montana right lane closed.

Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 (9 am - 4 pm)

  • I-10 eastbound Geronimo on-ramp complete closure.

Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 (9 am - 4 pm)

  • I-10 eastbound median at Anthony bridge on shoulder rock wall.

East Area Closures

Loop 375 Frontage Road Project

Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, - Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 (7 am - 4 pm DAILY)

  • South Americas Avenue (frontage road) southbound to northbound turnaround will be blocked occasionally near Union Pacific Railroad
  • South Americas Avenue southbound to northbound traffic will remain open and be flagged through work zone

Zaragoza/Montwood Improvement Project

Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, - Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 (7 am - 4 pm DAILY)

  • Montwood Drive westbound complete lane closure between Joe Battle Boulevard and Firehouse Drive
  • Traveling public will be shifted to eastbound lanes of roadway
  • The new section of Zaragoza will be open at Joe Battle Boulevard southbound to Montwood Drive to relieve traffic congestion
