Scheduled Construction And Road Closures For El Paso This Week

This week is the beginning of Fall and the beginning of more construction projects all over El Paso. To make sure you're not stuck sitting in traffic due to construction on your commute, you've come to the right place. To find out what major freeway and road closures are happening this week, check out the list below.

I-10 Connect Project Closures

Wednesday, September 25, & Thursday, September 26 (Nightly 8pm-5am)

• Southbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic at I-10

Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday, September 23, 24, & 26 (Daily 9am-4pm)

• Gateway Boulevard North CLOSED between Paisano Drive and Alameda Avenue

Sunday, September 22, through Thursday, September 26 (Nightly 9pm-5am)

• Alameda Avenue CLOSED at US 54

Monday, September 23, through Saturday, September 29 (Daily 9am-4pm)

• Gateway Boulevard East will be intermittently closed to all traffic adjacent to Lincoln Park.
• The on-ramp from Gateway Boulevard East to eastbound I-10 near Loop 478 (Copia Street) will be intermittently closed to all traffic.

East Area Project Closures

Tuesday, Sept. 24 (9 pm-5 am)

• I-10 westbound right lane closure between Hawkins Boulevard to Airway Boulevard
• I-10 westbound Airway Boulevard exit ramp CLOSED

Wednesday, Sept. 25 (9 pm-5 am)

• Gateway Boulevard eastbound to westbound turnaround at Hawkins Boulevard closed
• Gateway Boulevard westbound to eastbound turnaround at Hawkins Boulevard closed
• Complete closure of northbound and southbound lanes at Hawkins Boulevard underpass

West Area Project Closures

Spall Repair Project

Monday, September 23 through Thursday, September 26 (9 pm-5 am Nightly)

• Two left lanes IH-10 Eastbound from Stanton to Wyoming
• Two left lanes IH-10- Eastbound from Cotton to Geronimo

Pothole Repair

Monday, September 23 through Friday, September 27 (9 am-4 pm)

• US85 Mile Marker 324 to 326 alternate lane closures
• Right lane closure on Gateway West between Hawkins and Airways

Wednesday, September 25 through Thursday, September 26 (9 pm-6 am Nightly)

• Viscount Underpass Closed in both directions for painting. Viscount South Bound Traffic will need to detour Gateway West to Hawkins to Gateway East; Viscount North Bound Traffic will need to detour Gateway East to McRae and Back on Gateway West

Thursday, September 26 (9 pm-6 am Night)

• Concrete Paving Pour: Gateway East Closed @ Hawkins. Village Inn & Hotel Access through alley on Hawkins North, and drive through the parking lot to the restaurant & Hotel

Starting October 1-15, 2019

• Hawkins at Gateway east intersection will be close.
• No through traffic north or south bound at the intersection.
• Gateway east traffic will continue east on the gateway or turn south on to Hawkins.
• North bound traffic on Hawkins will turn right onto Gateway east.
• South bound traffic on Hawkins will turn left onto Gateway east.

Maintenance

Monday, September 23 through Friday, September 27 (9 am-4 pm)

• IH-10 West at Copia exit will be closed
• IH-10 Eastbound at Paisano Exist closed.

Montana Airport/Mescalero Intersection Improvement Project

Permanent Closures (Until further notice)

• The intersection of Airport and Montana is closed until further notice.

US 54 Widening and Illumination Project

Monday, September 23 through Thursday, September 26 9 pm to 6 am (Nightly)

• US54 Northbound completely closed from Hondo Pass Overpass to Trans-Mountain Overpass
• All traffic will exit Hondo Pass off ramp northbound and re-enter at Trans-Mountain on ramp
• US54 Southbound off ramp at Loop 375 and re-enter at Loop 375
