El Paso is having road construction all over the city. Find out where, when and what hours Eastside streets will have construction this week.

The City of El Paso is working hard to make the streets better and easier for people to travel on in the future. Unfortunately, this means for the next few months and maybe years we will be dealing with more traffic than normal on various sides of town.

Please follow the detour signs in place on all projects. All work is dependent upon weather conditions.

Here are the road closures and lane restrictions for this week, October 24th through October 30th:

Go 19 Project

I-10 East                                                                                  
Overnight
The following closures will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:

  • A right lane on I-10 eastbound between the Sunland Park overpass and the Buena Vista area
  • The Sunland Park flyover entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound
  • The Sunland Park underpass entrance ramp (from the Doniphan side of I-10) to I-10 eastbound

East Side Operational Improvements

Monday through Friday

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (at different times throughout the day and at different locations)

  • I-10 west and eastbound right shoulder closures between the Zaragoza overpass and Viscount/Hunter overpass
  • I-10 east and westbound left shoulder closures between the Viscount/Hunter overpass and the Zaragoza overpass
  • Alternate right and left lane closures along Gateway West and Gateway East between the Viscount/Hunter intersections and Zaragoza intersection
  • I-10 east and westbound alternate entrance and exit ramps will be closed between the Viscount/Hunter intersections and Zaragoza intersection.

El Paso East Area Projects

US 62/180 Passing Lane Project

Thursday, Oct. 20, through Friday, Oct. 21

7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • West and eastbound alternating lane closure on US 62/180 (Montana Avenue) between road marker 64 to road marker 66

Crews will be paving roadway.

Saturday, Oct. 22

8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • West and eastbound alternating lane closure on US 62/180 (Montana Avenue) between road marker 64 to road marker 66

Crews will be striping.

Monday, Oct. 24, through Tuesday, Oct. 25

7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • West and eastbound alternating lane closure on US 62/180 (Montana Avenue) between road marker 68 to road marker 70

Crews will be paving roadway.

Wednesday, Oct. 26

8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • West and eastbound alternating lane closure on US 62/180 (Montana Avenue) between road marker 68 to road marker 70

Crews will be striping.

Thursday, Oct. 27, through Friday, Oct. 28

7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • West and eastbound alternating lane closure on US 62/180 (Montana Avenue) between road marker 78 to road marker 80

Crews will be paving roadway.

Saturday, Oct. 29

8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • West and eastbound alternating lane closure on US 62/180 (Montana Avenue) between road marker 78 to road marker 80

Crews will be striping.

Carolina Bridge Project

Starting Friday, Oct. 21, at 7 a.m. to Monday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m., westbound right lane on Alameda Avenue (SH 20) will be completely closed between Cadwallader Drive and Carolina Drive.

  • Carolina Bridge is closed between Stiles Drive/Franklin Drive and Alameda Avenue (SH 20) until further notice.

Crews have demolished the existing bridge, and the reconstruction of the new bridge has begun.

Striping Project

Sunday, Oct. 23, through Friday, Oct. 28 (expect a moving operation)

9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • East and westbound lane closures on I-10 from McNarry overpass to Lasca exit ramp
  • East and westbound lanes closures on Alameda Avenue (SH 20) from El Paso County line to I-10
  • East and westbound lanes closures on Alameda Avenue (SH 20) from Americas Avenue to FM 1110

Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28 (expect a moving operation)

7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • East and westbound lane closures on I-10 from McNarry overpass to Lasca exit ramp
  • East and westbound lanes closures on Alameda Avenue (SH 20) from El Paso County line to I-10

M F Aguilera Project

Monday through Friday

6 a.m. to 7 p.m. (daily operation until further notice)

  • East and westbound mainlane closure on Alameda Avenue (SH 20) between Manuel F. Aguilera Highway and Valle Verde Drive

Note: Alameda Avenue (SH 20) east and westbound shoulders between M F Aguilera (southbound) and Valle Verde remain closed until further notice.

North Loop (FM 76) Project

Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as needed

  • Stedham Circle at North Loop Road (FM 76)
  • Poona Drive at North Loop Road (FM 76)
  • Gurdev Circle at North Loop Road (FM 76)
  • Los Robles Avenue at North Loop Road (FM 76)

Crews will install new water mains. Please use alternate routes.

Monday through Friday
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (daily operation until further notice)

  • Daily alternate lane closures at the North Loop/Rio Vista Boulevard intersection

Crews are placing hot mix and concrete paving, traffic signals, and drainage, as well as sidewalks, illumination and water mains.

The following closures will remain in place until further notice:

  • East and westbound shoulders along North Loop Road between Americas Avenue and Horizon Boulevard
  • North Loop (FM 76) east and westbound traffic has been placed onto the newly constructed pavement with one lane opened in each direction between Rio Vista Road and Lark Street.

The following streets will remain closed until further notice:

  • Stedham Circle (westbound), Hesse Drive, Rhutan Drive, Moon Road (northbound), and Punjab Drive

Closures are necessary for subgrade work, hot mix, and concrete paving for westbound lane of North Loop Road (FM 76).

Bridge Rail Project
Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Right lane closure on Gateway south and north at the McCombs (FM 2529)/US 54 intersection
  • North and southbound right lane closure on McCombs (FM 2529) at US 54

Crews will be installing metal beam guardrail.
Shoulder Work Project

Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Westbound right lane closure on Montana Avenue (US 62/180) between Tierra Este Boulevard and Joe Battle Boulevard

Daily operation until further notice:

  • North and southbound closure of the Iron Medics entrance ramps along the Purple Heart Memorial Highway (Loop 375)

Maintenance Project
Monday through Friday (daily operation until further notice)
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • South and northbound alternate left and right lane closures on Joe Battle Boulevard between Montana Avenue (US 62/180) and Rojas Drive
  • All entrance and exit ramps along this same section will be closed.

Crews will be sweeping and removing litter from this area.

Deceleration Lane/Driveway Project (Note: This is not a TxDOT project.)
Expect these closures every Monday through Friday until further notice:
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (at different times throughout the day)

  • Southbound right lane closure on Joe Battle Boulevard at Edgemere Boulevard
  • Northbound right lane closure on Zaragoza Boulevard (FM 659) at Sun Fire Boulevard
  • Southbound right lane closure on Zaragoza Boulevard (FM 659) at Tierra Este Boulevard
  • Eastbound right lane closure on Montana Avenue (US 62/180) at Tierra Este Boulevard/Justice
  • Westbound right lane closure on Montana Avenue (US 62/180) at Rich Beam Boulevard

Joe Battle (Loop 375) Widening Project - Oct. 24 - 28

Monday through Friday
7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (at different times throughout the day and at different locations)

  • Alternate north and southbound entrance and exit ramp closures along Joe Battle (Loop 375) between the Bob Hope overpass and the Montana overpass
  • Alternate north and southbound right and left lane closures along Joe Battle Boulevard between the Montana overpass and the Bob Hope overpass
  • Alternate north and southbound turnaround closures along Joe Battle Boulevard between the Bob Hope overpass and the Montana overpass

Monday through Friday

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (at different times throughout the day and at different locations)

  • North and southbound right lane closure on Joe Battle (Loop 375) between the Bob Hope overpass and the Montana overpass
