And you thought your phone bill was high.

An Oregon man was blindsided when a phone he thought he canceled gave him a bill he'll never forget. Ken Slusher and his girlfriend bought two phones through Verizon last November. After only a month of having the phones, they canceled due to issues with the company. He told FOX 12, “The number of errors and the comedy of which they happened is astounding to me.”

After canceling the phones he thought he wouldn't have to deal with Verizon again. How wrong he was. Slusher began receiving letters from collection agencies, telling him to check the account balance for the Verizon account he thought he canceled. When he finally called, the amount was over a staggering $2 million.

Ken Slusher was in the middle of closing on a new house him, his girlfriend and their children are supposed to move into. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't able to move into the new home until the Verizon bill got resolved.

Due to all of the media coverage his plight received, Verizon released a statement to FOX 12 in Oregon on the issue,

"We have apologized to an Oregon customer for a programming error in an automated voice response system. The error caused him to receive an incorrect voice message that he owed $2 million on his bill. We are correcting the error now and have resolved the issue to his satisfaction.
