Puff, puff pass, puppy.

Nevada Senator Tick Segerblom has proposed a brand new medical marijuana bill. The different between this bill and past? The bill actually has a clause in it about medical marijuana use for pets. Now don't expect Fido to be able to sit next to you and the vaporizer just because you think it'd be funny to get your dog high, there would be rules about the use of medical marijuana and animals. The only way for you to get medical marijuana for your animal would be if your pet's veterinarian prescribed it to them.

Here's what Senator Segerblom had to say about the proposed bill:

"People these days believe that marijuana can cure everything under the sun. From the inability to eat if you're terminally ill to problems with your nervous system. So if your dog has a nerve disease or uncontrollable tremors, this might be able to help it."

Another Nevada Senator isn't too keen on the idea of animals being allowed to consumed the drug. Senator Mark Manendo questioned whether there are "vets out there who even know if this works."

I've never heard of medical marijuana benefits from dogs, but if it helps people, including young children, with seizures, maybe dogs, too. Although my dog is a pug, and he doesn't need to be getting the munchies. He already shovels enough food in his mouth every day.
