Monopoly Pieces of West Texas Cities

Monopoly is arguably the most iconic board game of all time, and so are it's game pieces. And those game pieces have gone through changes over the years. As of 2013, here are the game pieces that come with the standard game:

• Wheelbarrow
• Battleship
• Race Car
• Thimble
• Shoe
• Dog
• Top Hat
• Cat

However, now through January 31st, Monopoly is putting the pieces up to a vote online. And if you want to vote, you can do so here. I would list all the options, but that's a huge rabbit hole.

But, I thought it would be fun to come up with game pieces for cities in West Texas.

El Paso - This one was easy. Although at first I was thinking of going with a "wall", since we're right on the border. I think an ORANGE TRAFFIC CONE is more fitting because this damn city will never NOT be under construction. (Yeah, that was a double negative)

San Angelo - Considering San Angelo was/is the wool capital. I'm going with a RAM on this one. It also helps that Angelo State University has the mascot, Dominic the Ram.

Now, Midland/Odessa and Abilene were a little more difficult. Because for each one I could have easily gone with an oil derrick or something high school football related. But, bear with me, because I'm going based on these nicknames from Wikipedia.

Abilene - KEY

Midland - OSTRICH

Odessa - JACKRABBIT
