Seattle 31 – Philadelphia 14

Marshawn Lynch ran for 148 yards and two first-half touchdowns, as the Seattle Seahawks beat the Philadelphia Eagles 31-14 on Thursday night. Seattle (5-7) intercepted Eagles’ quarterback Vince Young four times, including a pass that linebacker David Hawthorne returned 77 yards for a score late in the fourth quarter to seal the win for the Seahawks. The loss was another dismal performance for Philadelphia (4-8) in a season filled with disappointment.

The Seahawks raced to a 14-0 lead on Lynch’s two touchdowns, the first coming on a 15-yard scamper after he was initially stopped just past the line of scrimmage. Lynch’s second score came early in the second quarter, when he ran around the right edge of the Eagles defense and down the sideline for a 40-yard touchdown. LeSean McCoy scored on a 1-yard run for Philadelphia with 11:43 left in the first half to cut the Seattle lead to seven. Steven Hauschka’s 49-yard field goal 16 seconds before halftime made it 17-7 Seahawks at the break.

Seattle quarterback Tarvaris Jackson completed 13 of 16 passes for 190 yards, including a touchdown toss to Golden Tate midway through the third quarter that extended the Seahawks’ lead to 24-7. Philadelphia closed within 10 points when McCoy caught a 2-yard pass from Young with 12:51 to play in the game, but Hawthorne’s interception return put victory out of reach for the Eagles.

McCoy ran for 84 yards and a score on the ground and added 49 receiving yards and the touchdown catch. Young passed for 208 yards, a touchdown and the four interceptions. Eagles receiver Riley Cooper caught five passes for 94 yards.
