Now, the owner of Ferrari, Robert Ferrari, is speaking out against the backlash and asserting that this is his first amendment right. According to Ferrari himself, the signs posted all over his restaurant, which has been around since 1958, are a combination of his own and some that many have brought to him over the years.

But what exactly is wrong with the posters? Well, we can't really show you the photos, nor would we be comfortable showing you the photos here- but if you so choose to, you can check out some of them here. The signs range from harsh jokes about women, race, religion and profanity laced jokes about other presidents.

Mr. Ferrari himself, who is from New York, is defending the signs calling it "freedom of expression".

But many are beginning to wonder if it's free speech or if it's bordering on hate speech?

Still, while Mr. Ferrari says that he's gotten backlash over the years from both customers and city officials, many believe that the good food cancels out the offensive images.
