Drivers beware! TxDOT will be shutting down I-10 West on the west side of El Paso this weekend. The ongoing construction in El Paso has caused many headaches for drivers at night and even during the day. Some exits, like Sunland Park and Mesa Street, can cause a backup on the freeway and clog up other roads with commuters. This weekend, you better get ready for a major closure that will cause heavy congestion on other roads in the area.

This Sunday, January 20th Interstate 10 West will be completely SHUTDOWN between Sunland Park Drive to North Mesa Street. Also, the Sunland Park Drive entrance ramp to I-10 West will also be closed. This closure will be in effect from Sunday, January 20th at 3 a.m. until Monday, January 21st at 6 a.m. Drivers using I-10 westbound will exit Sunland Park Drive and use North Mesa Street to re-enter the freeway. Drivers in the area can also use Doniphan and McNutt as optional routes.
