A 6 month old bulldog puppy was surrendered to the El Paso Pug Rescue in desperate need of a surgery to help him walk again.

The El Paso Pug Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to the aid of homeless, mistreated, neglected, and unwanted Pugs. The rescue is completely volunteer ran and donation based. They need your help!

Gunny is a 6 month-old bulldog puppy that was surrendered to the rescue yesterday. He needs immediate surgery, because they type of neurological disorder he has becomes irreparable very quickly. He has a kink in his spine he was probably born with, so he used to be able to run and walk, but as he's gotten bigger and heavier, it's putting pressure on his spine, and he's quickly losing control over his legs.

The former owners said it started 3 weeks ago, which means the surgery needs to happen as soon as possible so he can keep the ability to walk. Due to the fact that the surgery will be on his spine, the surgery is costly for the rescue. The veterinarian the rescue works with said the surgery should cost about $5,000.

To donate to Gunny surgery, please visit the Go Fund Me page that has been set up for him. Anything helps!

The El Paso Pug Rescue is also holding a shoe drive right now to help raise more money for the rescue. They have teamed up with a group called Fund2Orgs to start a shoe drive to raise awareness and funds for two good causes! For every pair of gently used shoes the rescue receives, Fund2Orgs will donate funds to the group.  This shoe drive helps people in developing nations, so your donations will make a huge impact by helping both people and animals!

Please donate any new, or gently used shoes to help this cause. Donations can be dropped off at any El Paso Petco locations. They will be taking donations until May 1st so there is still time to help out these worthy causes!
