No Government Run Pot Shops For New Mexico

That was the plan anyway .... The Bill that would have set this up, and legalized recreational marijuana across the state, seems to have died in the house. 

The state of New Mexico was almost the first state in the United States to operate it's own marijuana dispensaries. The bill that would have legalized recreational marijuana use and also established government-run marijuana shops apparently didn't have enough votes. Private companies and some medical marijuana providers had some issues with the bill as well.  (Not that they get to vote in legislative sessions but, hey ... we all know how the political system works. Right?)

The State of New Mexico also recently took some steps to legalize the recreational use of New Mexico. That didn't work either ... yet ... but, they are way ahead of some other states in the fight to legalize weed so, more power to you New Mexico.
