2016 Golden Globes Nominations Announced, ‘Carol’ Leads with Five Noms, Netflix with Nine

The nominees are in!

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the 2016 Golden Globes nominations on Thursday morning. Todd Haynes’ 1950s romance Carol took the lead with five nominations, including Lead Actress nominations for both Cate Blanchett and Rooney MaraThe Big Short, The Revenant and Steve Jobs followed with four nominations each.

On the TV front, it turns out the HFPA is a big fan of streaming this year. Netflix came out on top with nine total nominations, eight of which were for their TV series and one film nomination for Beasts of No Nation. Amazon‘s Transparent got three nominations while their new series Mozart in the Jungle earned two.

The awards will be hosted by Ricky Gervais for the fourth time on January 10 at 8 p.m. ET. Check out the full list of nominees below:
