Another great weekend of football is upon us! Here are the games I think are worth watching:

COLLEGE

(18)FLORIDA GATORS AT (23) TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS 4 p.m ESPN
Behind quarterback Tyler Bray and receiver Justin Hunter, Tennessee (2-0) has made its first appearance in the AP rankings since 2008. This weekend, the Volunteers host SEC rival Florida (2-0), whom they haven’t beaten in their last seven meetings. The Gators hope SEC rushing leader Mike Gillislee, who injured his groin last week against Texas A&M, is ready to attack the Tennessee defense.

(2) USC TROJANS AT (21) STANFORD CARDINAL 5:30 p.m. FOX
It will be difficult for this year’s USC-Stanford game to match last season’s epic battle between Matt Barkley and Andrew Luck, won by Luck and the Cardinal, 56-48, in three overtimes. Barkley returns to lead USC (2-0) in the Pac-12 conference match-up. Stanford (2-0) won’t have Luck on its side in this game, but quarterback Josh Nunes and tailback Stepfan Taylor can be difficult to defend.

(20) NOTRE DAME FIGHTING IRISH AT (10) MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS 6pm ABC
Notre Dame (2-0) will start sophomore Everett Golson at quarterback against Michigan State (2-0) and its stingy defense. Spartans’ defensive end William Gholston could create havoc for the Irish. The Notre Dame defense figures to have its hands full with MSU tailback Le’Veon Bell.

NFL

BALTIMORE RAVENS (1-0) AT PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (1-0) 11 am CBS
For me this the game of the week and this could be a preview of the Super Bowl. The Baltimore Ravens used a no-huddle offense and a stifling defense to rout Cincinnati on Monday night. They’ll look to keep Eagles quarterback Michael Vick from connecting with his many offensive weapons. Vick played horrible last week and I expect him to play better. The Philadelphia defense could have real issues containing Ravens’ running back Ray Rice.

DALLAS COWBOYS (1-0) AT SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (0-1) 2pm FOX
Can Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys  have a repeat performance of last week.? Romo passed for 300 yds with 3 TDs and DeMarco Murray had over 100yds rushing. The defense has to deal with a rookie QB in Russell Wilson who is hoping to lead the Seahawks  to an upset win over the Cowboys. This will also be the first time Romo is back in Seattle since “The Fumble “ in the playoffs.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS (1-0) at ST. LOUIS RAMS (0-1) 2:05 pm FOX
Move over Tim Tewbow, RG3 and “Griffining” has taken over the country. Can RG3 do it again? He seemed very comfortable in the pocket and made some good decisions when he had to scramble. The Rams need to get their running game going if they expect to win.

DETROIT LIONS (1-0) at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (1-0) 6:20 pm NBC
The 49ers slapped Green Bay in the face last week. The offense lead by Alex Smith has more balance and the defense is a beast. Many experts are calling the niners the best team in football. Matt Stafford threw 3 interceptions last week and Calvin Johnson won’t be at 100%. It will be hard to run on San Francisco as the Packers found out. I’m more interested in what happens after the game when the coaches shake hands. Hopefully, we’ll get a repeat of last year.

Enjoy the games!
