A few weeks ago, Daniel Paulus wrote about how excited the Borderland Roller Derby was to be back and better than ever after being shut down due to the pandemic. Borderland Roller Derby consists of 5 local teams: Las Viudas Negras, Las Diablas, The Sexecutioners, Las Catrinas, & The Chuco Town Chulas. There is also a 6th team that will be added next season.
Now, the league has announced there even more excited for 2022 because they're kicking this year off by being on tv. The group made the announcement on Facebook that they would be featured on an episode of a hit A&E show:
Borderland Roller Derby, with much anticipation over the past several weeks, is proud to announce the league was featured in an episode of A&E’s “Shipping Wars.” The episode is set to air on Tuesday, January 11th at 8 pm (MT).
To celebrate and see the show with the athletes, you can join them at the Shipping Wars watch party, happening tonight, January 11th, at Tanya's Gridiron. Tanya's Gridiron is located at 4620 Dyer in Northeast El Paso.
