Here’s what’s going on in and around El Paso this weekend, January 24 – January 26. Some events are free, some will cost you a few bucks:

FRIDAY:

Monster X Tour Monster Truck Show – Event features top monster trucks battling it out in wheelie contests, and freestyle competition. In addition to the monster trucks, fans are treated to incredible high flying freestyle motocross, demolition derbies, and more. 7:30 p.m. at the El Paso County Coliseum, 4100 Paisano. Pre-event autograph pit party with the drivers offered. Tickets prices vary. More Details

Spring Home Show – The El Paso Association of Builders presents the annual event featuring hundreds of products for remodeling and updating the inside and outside of the home, as well as exhibits and demonstrations. 4 to 8 p.m. inside the El Paso Convention Center. Admission varies. More Details

El Paso Pro-Musica Chamber Music Festival – El Paso Pro Musica and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra collaborate for a show featuring violinist Kurt Nikkanen and cellist Zuill Bailey. 7:30 p.m. at the Plaza Theatre. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Ice Skating – Whoosh around on ice skates in the area’s largest public ice skating rink. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Sierra Providence Event Center, 4100 E Paisano behind the El Paso County Coliseum. Cost: $8, $6 Military. Admission includes skate rental. More Details

Live Horse Racing – The live horse racing season continues at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino. Post time is 12:15 p.m. Free general admission and parking. More Details

Friday at the Fire – Enjoy an evening of live music set against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing outdoor fireplace. Tonight, Ribo Flavin 6- 11 p.m. Free.

El Paso Playhouse ‘Spider’s Web’ — El Paso Playhouse presents the Agatha Christie mystery. 8 p.m. at the El Paso Playhouse, 2501 Montana. Ticket prices vary. More Details

SATURDAY:

Winter Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The “producers only” market features area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. Coffee, house-made pastries and fresh-squeezed juices available; brunch served in the restaurant beginning at 8 a.m. (575) 589-0653, ext. 3

Downtown Artist and Farmers Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts and regionally grown produce in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Truck Town at Freedom Crossing – Kids can explore and sit behind the wheel of several Exchange semi-trucks and see other cool trucks on display including a Fort Bliss fire truck, a monster truck from El Paso’s 4 Wheel Center and more! In addition, a monster truck jumping balloon, mobile video game trailer with 24 player stations, and Kid’s Karaoke will be part of the family festivities. 11am to 2pm in the southwest Freedom Crossing parking lot on the corner of Marshall Road and Pike Road.
