A big controversy has been brewing in Albuquerque following a drag queen performance at an area high school.

ABQ PD say they are investigating numerous threats to the performer as well as to the school itself. The latest is that three school administrators were “escorted off the property” last week, put on leave and a new interim principal has been named.

Here is the performance in question that happened on April 20th at the public schools prom held at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

The video of the adult male performer was posted on Tik Tok and quickly went viral.  Now, parents are saying they’re not being given straight answers about the performance and who, if anyone, approved it.

Here’s Dylan Payan, also known by his stage name Mythica Sahreen, (LINK: )  talking about the threats he says he’s gotten following the incident.

Payan says that he was given full approval for his routine and outfit by school personnel. Payan, 26 and a behavioral therapist for autistic children, says he had already hosted workshops for LGBTQ students at Atrisco High and had done similar performances on at least three previous occasions.

To top it all off, now the NEW principal at the school is catching heat. KOAT 7 news says the new principal sent an e-mail to parents, falsely assuring them the school had received NO threats. This despite the fact that KOAT had been reporting threats of bombing and shooting for several days before the e-mail was sent.

Another station in Albuquerque interviewed students who were at the prom. Two of those interviewed said everyone was cheering the performance. However, they both say, some of the performance was not appropriate.   “They DID kind of twerk on some of the students”, one of the kids told KOB-TV.
