Apart from the fact that he plays for my favorite team and is one of my favorite players, Dwyane Wade has proven plenty of times that he has a heart of gold.

Wade is known to be involved in charities and various organizations. In 2003 he founded The Wade's World Foundation, which provides support to community-based organizations that promote education, health, and social skills for children in at-risk situations.

My favorite story is back on December 24, 2008,  he bought a house for a South Florida family whose house had caught on fire (accidentally by the owner's nephew). In addition to the home, he also donated furnishings, clothing and gifts for the holiday. (Talk about Happy Holidays!!)

He's also known to visit sick children in hospitals (on the down low of course, mainly to keep out of the spot light and he can dedicate his time to visit), he's donated money from his foundation to the Robbins, Illinois public library to keep it from shutting down, he tithes 10% of his salary to a church in Chicago and way many more things.

His most recent ... he is planning to donate his pay from Friday's game (Miami vs. New York) to charity. It is approximately, $210,000 before taxes. "The money I make tonight can be left for a good cause," he said. "I know a lot of people here. Knowing the things they have been through, it's just mind-boggling. Miami is a place that is affected by hurricanes all the time so I know how the community can be impacted by it. It's tough."

He thought the game should've been post-poned considering there's 'bigger things to be concerned about than a basketball game'.

I admire him because he's been there and understands. Its always good to think of someone else, anything you can do to help out ... kind of like today, the 30th annual El Paso Motorcycle Coalition Toy Run/Parade is taking place. (For more information on the event, check out Dubba Gs blog. Dubba G will be there as myself ... hope to see you all there!)

Keep it going ... Wade style! (Go Heat!!)
