24 Year Old Punchs Elderly Costco Shopper over Nutella Samples

A 24 year old sucker punched a 78 year old man after the elderly man told him to not take all the Nutella samples.

Derrick Gharabighi, 24, has been charged with punching an elder after a confrontation happened at a Burbank, Calif., Costco over Nutella waffle samples.

Gharabighi was shopping at the Costco when he and the elderly shopper both reached to grab Nutella waffle samples. Gharabighi proceeded to grab every single sample, leaving none for the elderly man. According to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, the man told Gharabighi he "wanted a sample and he shouldn't take so many."

That was when the 24 year old punched the elderly man in the face which sent him to the hospital. The senior citizen had a one-inch cut and swelling above his left eye.

Gharabighi was arrested and is currently being held on $50,000 bail. He is facing one count of elder abuse and inflicting great bodily harm on an elderly man. If he is convicted, he could face up to 11 years in prison.
