The big game is tomorrow and parking is going to be trouble.

The 80th annual Hyundai Sun Bowl (UCLA vs. Virginia Tech) is tomorrow and here are a few things you need to know.  First and foremost, parking, which is usually a drag anyway, will suck even more due to all the construction taking place around UTEP.

Most notably, the lots just off I-10 where all the RVs and trailers usually set up are closed. The RV/tailgating haven this year will be near Mesa and Kern.  Take I-10 to Executive, come up to Mesa and follow the directional signs that have been set up.

As for other parking, there will be several lots open, particularly along Schuster, (with plenty of shuttles to carry you back and forth to your vehicle) and around 8 different Sun Metro bus routes will be operating.

Lots open at 6:00am. If you use the parking garage, you will not be allowed to "tailgate". There are also premium and reserved lots closer to the stadium.  Cars = $10, RVs and oversized vehicles = $20.

For more info and/or to purchase parking passes, call 915-533-4416 or 1-800-915-BOWL.

If you're not going to the game, but plan to be on the west side near UTEP, expect traffic backups and other assorted headaches throughout the day!

According to the El Paso Times, the following rules will be enforced:

No outside food and beverages are allowed. Video and movie cameras are not permitted. The following items are also prohibited: containers, coolers, signs, banners, flags, umbrellas, alcohol, narcotics, pets (other than service animals), laser pointers, weapons, fireworks, strollers, whistles and seatbacks wider than 18 inches.

Kickoff is at noon!
