Texas Monthly Lists El Charlatan’s Ramen As Best In TX For 2022
Texas Monthly gets a taste of all the buzz after naming Socorro's El Charlatan one of the best places for a bowl of ramen in all of Texas.
Texas Monthly just unveiled its annual 'Where to Eat And Drink Now' feature, and it's named El Charlatan as one the best places in Texas to score a hearty ramen bowl named after the late world-renowned chef Anthony Bourdain.
The Bourdain Ramen bowl gained attention by Texas Monthly for its savory broth, tantalizing noodles, and perfectly tender pork belly pieces saying:
About fifteen miles southeast of downtown El Paso, a charming old adobe-style building has been turned into an inviting dining venue. The quirky menu focuses on Mexican specialties and ramen (chef-owner Enrique Lozano’s obsession), then throws in a few other Asian dishes for good measure. The Bourdain ramen—named for the late culinary traveler Anthony Bourdain—hits the requisite marks with squiggly noodles, pork belly, Japanese fish cake, scallions, and a soft-cooked egg in a rich and creamy tonkotsu-style pork-bone broth.
Located inside Casa Apodaca in Socorro's burgeoning Art District along the historic Mission Trail, El Charlatan Ramen-Ya Y Taqueria is the newest hot spot gaining a following over its Mexican and Asian cuisine.
Texas Monthly is just finding out what El Pasoans have known since opening its doors last October, and the Bourdain Bowl is just one of many enticing options that'll you'll find at El Charlatan.
All it takes is one bite for your taste buds to go nuts over anything on the menu, ranging from its tacos, aguachiles, bao's, of course, its ramen, and so much more.
Owner Enrique Lozano and his dedicated team have hustled the last couple of years to bring to life a new immersive dining experience to the borderland by fusing cultures and cuisines with a fun yet unpretentious menu.
All that hard work has paid off as Lozano, and his team is still reeling from the news after learning that they were listed on Texas Monthly saying:
It feels rewarding, and hard work does pay off as much as it does in any other city; if you commit and dedicate yourself to your craft, you can and will get noticed.
Get a taste of what everyone is talking about, and don't pass on the desert because their Gansito inspired dessert will also blow your mind.
For our friends across the border, El Charlatan is also going international with planned pop-ups in Juarez beginning this week when it teams up with Cascabel Cantina for Cumbias x Ramen this Thursday.
