Trent Reznor needs to clear some space on his mantle, because he’s scored another major award!

Trent Reznor, the mastermind behind the How to Destroy Angels project, which also features his wife Mariqueen Maandig, issued a short and simple tweet about the status of the band’s upcoming effort. It’s good news, since it means because more progress is being made and we’re closer to hearing the finished product.

Trent Reznor is known to many as the generally brooding frontman of Nine Inch Nails, but the rocker seems pretty content these days. “I’m not at war with myself as I once was,” he says in an interview with UK newspaper The Guardian. “Life isn’t miserable. I don’t miss that.”

Trent Reznor is a hot topic right now, having scored the much anticipated ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,’ with musical partner Atticus Ross. Reznor and Ross, along with Reznor’s wife Mariqueen Maandig, are readying the full-length debut of their How to Destroy Angels project.

Iconic Nine Inch Nails pioneer Trent Reznor has been nominated for yet another Golden Globe Award for his work with longtime collaborator Atticus Ross, scoring ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.’ The duo captured the 2011 ‘Best Original Score’ Golden Globe for the music from ‘The Social Network,’ and are looking to achieve back-to-back wins in 2012.

We recently reported on Nine Inch Nails creative force Trent Reznor releasing a cover of the Led Zeppelin classic ‘Immigrant Song.’ Now a cyber-creepy music video has surfaced for the track that features vocals by Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O and additional production by Reznor’s musical partner Atticus Ross.

It seems that there is finally hope for the long-rumored and joked-about TV mini-series adaptation of Nine Inch Nails/Trent Reznor‘s Year Zero album.
