Yesterday, I introduced you to Sarah Longfield, a guitar shredder who loves her some extra stringiness in her guitars. She likes eight of them. If you only have six, she's not very interested. A few months back, I entered a guitar solo contest to win an awesome Mayones guitar. I didn't win, I'm not really a solo player, but I got to see a lot of amazing people playing insane shred solos over this short piece. I found a few new players to follow, and a few that I've already been following did some cool solos! I found this girl a while back, her name is Sarah Longfield.

I love effects pedals. I don't use a lot of them, but I love to play around with them. I think this is one pedal I would turn on and use all the freaking time! I think a lot of players would love to have one of these. It would save a huge amount of time, and we'd never have to hear certain kinds of playing ever again. I think I'll order one for Buzz...

This video gives some fantastic close-up work of what he's doing, in case you want to learn what he's playing, or just get a good look.

Not only is Mark a great guitar player, but he surrounds himself with great musicians. Here's a guitar battle with popular vocalist/guitarist Myles Kennedy, from the Alter Bridge live DVD. Not only do you get to see how good Mark Tremonti is, but you really get to hear how good Myles is!

This week's shredder is Mark Tremonti. He's a great player, and a fantastic songwriter. He's written huge songs for Creed, Alter Bridge and now his solo band, Tremonti. He's got a great sense of melody and song structure, and on top of that, he's a good singer and an amazing guitarist!

This week, I want to feature the guitar skills of Mark Tremonti. He's kind of an underrated guitar player, since he tends to play more for the song instead of the shred, but when he cuts loose, he can really cut loose! I found these videos a while back, with guitar shred king Rusty Cooley and Mark trading off licks.

Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated with guitar playing. It looks cool, sounds cool, gets girls, and makes people money. What more could you want out of one activity? The only downside? The years spent building the chops, alone in your room, missing out on all the fun. In hopes of getting all the girls, money, and fun later.

I've seen a few of these videos, and each one keep upping the tempos. This guy (Taylor Sterling) plays the song up to 999bpm (or bmp as his girlfriend wrote it on the board).
