Slipknot hope to follow up their latest album in a quicker time than it has taken in the past.

Slipknot guitarist Jim Root says the group hasn’t seen “a penny off of record sales” and they “never have.”

Update (5:45PM ET): This story has been amended with a statement from Stone Sour confirming that Jim Root is in fact no longer in the band. Earlier this year, guitarist Jim Root sat out Stone Sour's tour with the reason given that he was concentrating his efforts on writing music for Slipknot's next album. However, now the band has announced that it has parted ways with Root.

Yeah, photographic proof .... 'cuz we haven't heard any actual Slipknot music yet!

Stone Sour will be short one member when they get to El Paso ... and that's a good thing!

I'm a sucker for gear videos.  I love to see what the bands are using to get the sounds they want for the studio, the tour, whatever.  I guess it feeds into my GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) that I suffer from.
