Balloonfest 2012

Balloonfest rocked Wet N Wild for three days, even without Hellyeah, because we had a ton of great local music to keep things going throughout the three days of Memorial Weekend. (Don't worry, Hellyeah will be here on July 27th.) There was something for pretty much everyone's taste, and all the bands were amazing! It's now been more than a week since I was in El Paso and I miss you (yes, all of you!) already! You guys really showed me that El Paso can party at Balloonfest and I can't wait to do it again with you at Streetfest! While I can't be in El Paso all the time, I can keep up with what's going on there by checking the ever-moving wall here on KLAQ...

Hell yeah, Balloonfest was still a blast! Memorial Day weekend rocked with great bands, great food and great fun at Wet-N-Wild Waterworld. It's even more fun when you get to slow it down and take it easy. Who knows, with our slow-motion replay, you might even spot yourself in the crowd!

This weekend's Balloonfest 2012 was so much fun, it's impossible to capture it all on one video, but luckily there are tons of different videos and photo galleries you can check out that will show you a bit of what happened this weekend.

Nothing goes better with hot air balloons, water rides, barbeque and live music than snakes, tarantulas and donkey rides. It may seem like an odd combination, but Noah's Ark Exotic Pets brought the critters to Wet-N-Wild Waterworld this past weekend for Balloonfest 2012 and we couldn't have had more fun with them.

As far as jobs go, we can't complain. I mean, work had all of us at KLAQ hanging out with bands, soaking in the sun and riding in hot air balloons at Balloonfest 2012 this weekend.

One of the best parts about Balloonfest 2012 was all the babes in bikinis. We're not dumb having it at a water park, people! In case you couldn't make it to enjoy the view or your memory needs a little refreshing, here's the Babes of Balloonfest 2012:

Dead Sara rocked Balloonfest 2012 on Saturday and we had a chance to chat with lead singer Emily Armstrong after the show.

Balloonfest 2012 kicked off perfectly on Saturday, with Buckcherry headlining the Budweiser concert stage. The band took the stage after Dead Sara, who had the crowd completely energized after closing with their song 'Weatherman.'

Day 2 of Balloonfest 2012 took things even higher than Day 1 did! The energy, the crowd, the fun, the rock! Sunday is usually a big day for people partying with us at Wet N Wild, and this year was no exception. Thanks to everyone who came out, rode the rides, and rocked with all the great local bands, and P.O.D.!

Balloonfest 2012 has officially started, with the first balloons taking off from Santa Teresa Country Club at 6 a.m. and the party is getting underway at Wet N Wild World RIGHT NOW!

We sent Fernie out to ask the important questions at Balloonfest 2012, including the most important question of them all -- spit or swallow? Fernie stumbled upon a trio of exotic dancers in bikinis and we recorded their answers.
